Introduction

As at 25 February 2012 the only part of this site operating is the Event Listing service. Using this service you can create a list of upcoming orienteering events to your own specification. You can define the events to be included on the basis of level, club and association. Events are also included on the basis of the event date from today to a specified number of days in the future. A choice of display format is also available, table, list or news feed (RSS).

Having defined your perfect(?) list of events you can save the Internet address that is created for you and re-visit at any time for a list that is refreshed for every visit. You may want to save the Internet address as a bookmark or favourite in your web browser. If you are a webmaster you can include the url in your web site. Please display the information on a specific page - not your site's home page - as the construction of the list can take a few seconds.

Coming soon - a newletter service that will provide you with a weekly update of orienteering events, results, ranking and news to your own personal selection.

The primary aim of this site is to provide UK orienteers with event information that is specific to their needs. The initial work is based around a set of advanced filters that can be applied to the British Orienteering events database that allow individual orienteers and club webmasters to produce event listings where both the event level and the organising club/association can be combined. The filters allow a list to be defined that has for instance, Level D events close to home and Level A events further afield. As quite a few events held in the BO database do not have a grid reference, the listing method adopted here is based on organising club and association rather than location.

As the idea is developed we will do our best to ensure that any filters you have created will continue to work. But if you are using the listing function on a website you may want to subscribe to our occasional newsletter (not available yet!) that will keep you up to date with developments and changes.
